RSI and the broader Red Stag Group are strong supporters of the local community, providing sponsorship and funding support for a number community projects, including the Energy Events Centre and the use of the land at the front of the Waipa Valley for public facilities and infrastructure.

This support is scheduled to be committed for the long term benefit of the local community to ensure that permanent amenities are provided for mountain bikers, cyclists, tourists and locals in the form of iconic public toilets, roading, sealed car parking and event space.

The proposed roading adjustments to enhance user safety and increase sealed car parking will further improve the user experience.

RSI also supports the establishment of the newly proposed Olympic quality Rotorua BMX track and facilities in the Waipa Valley. In partnership with the BMX club and district council, RSI is proposing to provide safer access across RSI land via a vehicle bridge into the district councils land on the North East corner of Waipa State Mill Road and State Highway 5.

The BMX facility is scheduled to show case an Olympic quality track, in line with the world class mountain biking tracks that the region has to offer.
RSI is also supportive of establishing a significant number of sealed car parks to service mountain bikers, BMX riders, event spectators, tourists and locals alike. RSI’s desire is for the Waipa Valley tourism and mountain biking precinct to have over 400 sealed car parks in addition to overflow space.
